I guess JJ will grow into his ears.
Have you noticed how city slickers give farm animals names and treat them like pets, while country folk treat their animals like, well, animals?
Snuggle time for Momma and baby.
Jack, Cleo, and JJ have a great life with plenty of grass and water and lots of attention. When anyone arrives, the donkeys come running for carrots and other treats. They love to be petted.
Jack loves carrots.
Donkeys are becoming more common on ranches and farms in Texas. Unbelievably, they are used to guard livestock.
The hot afternoon is the perfect time for a nap.
Donkeys will chase away coyotes, dogs, bobcats, and even wild pigs to protect the other animals in the pasture. They bray loudly to scare away predators, and if that doesn't work, they will attack the unwanted guests.
JJ stays close to his momma.
We witnessed this when Jack tried to eat some of JJ's feed, and Cleo kicked him in the head. It's wise not to take food away from a donkey or walk too close behind them.
JJ is very good at looking adorable.
Now when Granny and PaPa spend some time on the farm, they are no longer city slickers, but country folk, cause they got donkeys.
