I think it was back at Easter while at a family gathering at my brother-in-law's home, that I found myself wandering around the backyard. After overeating and sitting for a while, I felt the need to get up and stretch my legs. So I took my camera and went in search of some photo ops. I ended up spying into the neighbor's backyard (no fence, so it was unavoidable), and found this amazing garden.
I love how the garden is decorated with flea market and garage sale finds. The old shutters and doors and empty clay pots give the garden a cottage feel. I've been trying to emulate this in a small way in my own yard.
Looking at these photos inspires me to go outside and work in the garden. How about it, are you inspired?

Great photos. Loved the garden. Our new place is a little baron in the landscape dept but we'll get there slowly.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Carla! I think a garden should always be a work-in-progress. It's never finished because making changes is part of the fun.
DeletePretty vignettes! Love your flea market finds in the garden.

DeleteAt least once per week I take my camera and walk around my new neighborhood. This is my first summer here. I find some really great yards/gardens around here to photograph. So fun to stumble upon these beauties!

Brenda, I love taking photos of the neighbors' yards and houses. Sometimes, I wonder if they are going to come outside and ask me what I'm doing. So far, no one has!
DeleteLots of good ideas from where you visited to add to your garden. I love artsy things on the walls, ground and hanging from trees.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to add some items to my garden without making it too cluttered, but getting the right cottage feel. This can be a hard balance to achieve. Thanks for visiting!
DeleteI've got a new spot I want to fill with a potting table and the ideas in this garden you found are perfect. I think I even have a pair of old shutters somewhere! Thanks, Sallie. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jami! I love the grapevine wreath and the pots hanging on the old shutters.
