How do you know when you're spending too much time watching television? Maybe when you're not getting done what needs to be done. I admit, I watch TV at night. During the day the television usually stays off, except for the local news and Good Morning America (while walking on the treadmill). I have a couple primetime shows that I don't miss: Big Bang Theory and Bones. I know, both nerd shows. Oh, yeah, I also like The Middle and Modern Family. I don't regularly watch too many of the hundreds of reality shows except Design Star, American Idol, and Dancing with the Stars.
This month I'm looking forward to two Food Network shows. One is The Great Food Truck Race, starting August 14. I stumbled upon the first season by accident, and now I'm hooked. I've never eaten out of a food truck. Down here, the only ones I see are taquerias. The trucks competing on this show dish up a wide variety of foods. It's fun the watch the contestants handle the weekly challenges.

The second show, and the one I'm most excited about is The Pioneer Woman, featuring Ree Drummond. It premieres August 27. The Pioneer Woman was the first blog I started reading last year. If you haven't read it, you have got to check it out. Ree's photography is amazing, the recipes are fantastic, and her stories are hilarious. She has written a cookbook, a novel, and a children's book. Now a television show! I think she's amazing. (Slight girl crush!)

My DVR is programmed so I won't miss an episode of The Pioneer Woman or The Great Food Truck Race. As long as I tell myself that I'm doing research for the blog, I won't feel guilty about watching too much television.
What television shows do you think are must-sees? Do you ever watch Food Network?
