Greek Pasta Salad

I love pasta, feta cheese, and black olives. Put these together, and you have a cool pasta salad, perfect for any time of the year.

Greek Pasta Salad

14 ounces rotini pasta (1 box)
3/4 cup olive oil
1/2 cup red wine vinegar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon dried basil 
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon salt
freshly ground black pepper
20 cherry tomatoes
3/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
1/2 cup chopped green onions
1 (4 ounce) can sliced black olives

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add rotini pasta and cook 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain. 
In a small bowl or jar , mix together olive oil, vinegar, garlic powder, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. 
In a large bowl, mix together cooked pasta, tomatoes, feta cheese, green onions, and black olives. Add about 3/4 of the dressing, and toss gently. Cover and chill for at least 2 hours. If desired, add remaining dressing before serving. Makes 6 or more servings.

I served this with grilled chicken and crusty french bread. Next time, I think I'll try pita bread.

The kids are back in school and fall is just around the corner, but I'm still wearing shorts, eating cool salads, and staying inside. How do you beat the heat?

Update: We are now at 24 days in a row of 100+ temps.
