Pumpkin Oatmeal

I love old-fashioned oatmeal on a cold morning, or cool, since we don't get many really cold mornings along the Texas Gulf Coast.  I especially love flavored oatmeal, but I don't like the little packets with quick oats, sugar, and artificial flavoring. Since I'm still into my seasonal pumpkin obsession, I decided to try adding pumpkin to our morning oatmeal. Hubby usually doesn't like anything that seems different to him, so I was surprised when he ate the oatmeal and loved it.

Fall Front Porch

Finally, the chrysanthemums are blooming! Even though I decorated the front porch over a month ago, the mums are just now looking good. Oh well, better late than never.

Comfort Food Roundup and Featured Recipe

Our first Comfort Food Blog Hop and Link Party has officially ended. This was my first time to participate in either a blog hop or a link party. Thanks to everyone who linked up a recipe. I now have several new comfort food recipes to try this fall. Maybe if I try only one a week, I won't gain too much weight!


It was difficult to choose my favorite recipe, but I struggled through it. Ha ha! I loved reading the recipes and looking at all the great photos. I especially loved Leslie's easy recipe and beautiful photos of her Chicken Pot Pie on her blog, House on the Way. Why can't my pies look like this?
